Althea P Nakila:  

Althea - Castle of '72, is the eldest daughter of Anthony Sanchez & Caroline (Kapele) both of whom would have graduated from the first class at Castle '50. Brothers: Anthony Jr (Tony) Castle of '71., James (Puni) Castle of '73, Sisters: Ann - Castle of '74, Jane - Castle of '75. Growing up in Kaneohe, on the Luluku Farm (Banana Patch), and taught homemaking and farm skills. From '68-'74 the family had a 400 acre ranch at Pupukea, overlooking the North Shore of Oahu. Rounding up cattle on horseback, branding, and fencing the 400 acres kept us out of trouble. Althea was on the Castle Track team, coached by Bob Nakagawa in 9th & 10th grade, and on the 1st Hawaii Drill Team lead by Penny (Nobriga) Young. After graduation, she attended Church College of Hawaii (now Brigham Young University - Hawaii) in Fall '72, as PE major, business minor and played on the Basketball team. Left school to work at Hawn Tel - Central, in Honolulu as a service order rep. Moved to Kohala, HI in Sep 1973 and worked at the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, in 1974 at Hawaii Biogenics as a livestock hand.
